Rain Rain Glorious Rain
Nothing quite like it for filling the drain
Making big puddles
People in huddles
At windfacing bus stops
The ones at the edges get splattered with gust drops
Dreaming of buses that do not appear
Cos they turn up less often at this time of year
The cats will not go out
They just stick one paw out
And start reversing
Twitched whiskers and cursing
People give you curt nods
As they’re very at odds
Their brolly is broken
So no words are spoken
Don’t you dare block my path
Or I’ll show you my wrath
They do not say this
But you still get the gist
Funny how some water
Makes people much fraughter
It is only rainfall
It’s not like it’s painful
It’s not like it’s dirty
So don’t get so shirty
It’s refreshing the earth
So surely that’s worth
A round of applause
From everyone outdoors
You are not wet for nowt
When it rain’s there’s no drought
Logically there shouldn’t be
Though the forecast is contrary
Rain Rain Glorious Rain
Just cut it down if we’re in a flood plain
A wet week of Sundays
Plays havoc with fundays
It’s a bit of a bummer
If there’s too much in summer
