I started a bookkeeping course recently to become a Complete Associate Member of the Institute of Bookkeepers. I nearly wrote Bookkippers. Yes, some fishy things do go on I expect, but that’s another book, story. Oh my word, boooring I hear you say.

Maths was my worst subject or should I say my most feared subject at school. I went to a Grammar School and on the first day that our Maths teacher walked in, she peered at us over her glasses and said “I hate first years”. We got the message loud and clear as she used to lob the board rubber accross the room at people if they annoyed her. I sat next to a maths swat and genius so I was able to copy some of her answers. So I vowed that I would keep away from the number world as an adult but of course, as often happens, like a cat will make a beeline for the person who has an aversion to them, numbers stalked me.

The first job I had was a Bookkeeper/Cashier and I have done a few accounts genre jobs since then. But I am looking to start amy own Reiki/Tarot whatever comes into my orbit business some time soon and I thought that Bookkeeping would qualify me to do my books and if anyone is willing to let me loose on theirs, do others’ books too. Plus it will keep me grounded. It’s the nitty gritty earthy side of me. My reality includes things seen and unseen, proven and unproven as yet, you see.

I have to make it a bit interesting and fun so I started thinking about the Akashic Records as a kind of Bookkeeping system. What is that you say? No, it is not the kind of job that you will find in the job section of the Guardian.

It is alleged that the Akashic Records are an energetic imprint/kind of book/record of each thought, action, emotion, and experience that has occurred since the start of time and space. The best way to imagine it is that everytime someone, everyone has a thought or experience, a record of it is kept in the big book. This is used to analyse the past, can give a present snapshot and forecast future potential trends, behaviours. There is one for every individual and all of this is amalgamated into larger group books.

“Akasha” originated from two ancient Tibetan or northern Indian words.  “Aka” denotes space, storage place, or repository.  “Sa” means sky, hidden, or secret.  So basically,  “Akasha” means “an unseen space or storage place.”  This means that the Akashic Records are a concealed library of records which are imprinted on the subtle space of the Akasha.

How can this be so?

Everything is made up of energy. Science acknowledges that now. The things that we perceive as solid are in fact made up of atoms of energy that are in flux. We just perceive them as hard and solid.

It is energy that contains the information in the Akashic Records. This energy is called  Akasha, which is a Sanskrit term meaning “primary substance.”  it is said that this energy, Akasha, makes up everything in the whole universe. Hindu mysticism maintains that Akasha is the primary principle of nature from which the other four natural principles of fire, air, earth, and water, are derived. Therefore it is the source. Whenever anyone thinks, speaks or acts, the vibration creates a ripple that produces a permanent imprint on the Akasha, like an energetic recording.

It does seem a bit mindblowing. I have tried to get my head and around it and I have these thoughts so far. It is said that energy is not created, it is transformed. There is a set amount of energy within the universe in myriad forms. It is just transformed into different subtypes, either by nature or by us. This would explain, to me anyway, the concept of the “butterfly effect”, how something happening in one part of the world has an effect somewhere else. This would be like taking or converting energy in one place draws out some or changes the frequency of energy in another place. Think about it. I would be interested in your input (again, an energetic term) It would indicate that we do not own anything, we are just borrowing it and as we know, some individuals, countries, continents borrow more than others. All commodities like water and power are part of this energy too. This would surely be why we are in trouble in the future. If there is a specific amount of source energy and we are unevenly distributing it and tampering with it, converting into other types at whim, then we are kind of shooting ourselves in the foot.

It would suggest another way of looking at Carl Jung’s concept of the “collective unconscious” with the archetypes, which are certain ideas or symbols that we all interpret in a similar way. These are things like Mother, Old Man, Shadow (I will look into these further in another post as psychoanalytic theory is another interest of mine, I have an MA in the subject, which does not make me an expert, it just gives me a slight grasp on the analysts’ way of seeing the world/energy forms. If you like, I can tune into the psychoanalytic frequency) It also lends us insight into what Jung called “synchronicity” as everything is one kind of energy so like would be linked to like and if you adjust your thinking (which is another form of energy) to a specific frequency you will be in a “position” to attract it (I will write more about my sychronicity experiences at some point)

So I look at the Akashic records as recording shifts of this energy source, which would be “primary substance” and the way to do it would be akin to keeping individual books on who uses what portion how and collate the data to forecast or track trends.Double entry would mean a credit to one column corresponding to a debit in another. I can imagine some Akashic Bookkeeper auditing the Book and saying “Some blah blah of energy was taken from this account, Pacific Ocean and there is no record of where it was taken to.. Aha but the Universe is cleverer than us. It keeps tabs. Everything is one so you just tug the thread and voila it will reveal the link.

As for me, time to get back to the head scratching task of learning to follow paper trails (energy from the tree account)
