To Reiki means that you just need to pass your hands over the pieces of tree bark and make the signs above.

I would add that if you do not have a piece of an ash tree you could use the image above. You do not have to do it at exactly 22.08 but any time over the next couple of days would be suitable.

Information on the Two Runes

Pronounced Yew – was – literally means “yew”.Eihwaz is indicative of the verticality and energy of the human spine.

The spine is the channel for one of the most powerful energy flows within the human psyche, the one that is called  Kundalini ‘fire’. It is upward  flow of energy up from the root  (chakra) to the crown in the mind which brings about cosmic consciousness.

The needle of the Yew Tree is poisonous to us as it contains a toxin which adversely affects the nervous system. The Yew itself is an evergreen which easily conjures up associations of immortality and the mysteries of life and death. The great initiation into the mysteries of life is death as they are links in the same chain.

Perthro is a mysterious rune, one that is associated with luck, chance and fate or wyrd. It represents the idea of a cup or container. It is said that the  three Norns (fates) look after the waters beneath the World Tree.. The waters overflow at times and cause global catastrophes.  Waters are also life-giving of course and  the Norns wet the bark of the World Tree to preserve it.  This rune comes immediately after Eihwaz, the rune of the World Tree which lives forever; Perthro is the force which flows back and forth through the tree so can be seen as the adventure of life itself.

So you can see why these two Runes were selected by Freya Aswynn as ideal for the working to preserve the Ash Trees.
