Over the past couple of days two celestial phenomena have entangled and have been enhancing the potency of the Full Moon. It is what is called a penumbral eclipse and it is very subtle in its appearance. At the point of the central part of the eclipse, you would notice a dusky shading concealing about 90% of the lunar face. There has also been a bright planet that brilliant planet close to the Moon. That is Jupiter, the expansive, fortunate planet, ruler of Sagittarius. That coupling will be even cosier tonight, 28th November 2012. It will be the smallest full moon of the year and it will be darkened by the very subtle penumbral shadow of Earth during the night.

This morning the Moon became Full. It is in the sign of Gemini and exactly opposes the Sun in Sagittarius . This creates a very mental axis. Gemini symbolises the “lower mind” and Sagittarius the “higher mind”. A Gemini Moon urges us to think logically and locally, whereas Sagittarius incites us to think holistically. Sagittarius energy makes us start to quest and look for meaning and ideas that are broader than the here and now. Our minds get itchy feet and want to expand on our ideas and share them with a wider audience. Mercury likes the comfort zone of the close neighbourhood, of sister and brothers, of those who we are familiar with while Sagittarius gives us the restless urge to go further afield.
It would be beneficial if you can find a balance between these two poles of attraction. This Full Moon can help with this. It is all about about communication writ large. You might be feeling bolder with a heightened sense of adventure. You might have felt a restlessness building up in you recently, something you want to express or do is coming to the surface. It wants you to explore and voice it and do something concrete. You will find that this urge spills out anyway into words so best to express them as they will not be contained. Perhaps it is a new thought pattern or philosophy that is bubbling away in your mind, perhaps you want to take up a course of higher education. Do not worry what those in the immediate vicinity say, just do it.
I know about this kind of feeling from personal experience. I have always been a bit of an explorer. I love seeing new places and meeting new people. Years back, one of my neighbours instructed me on her philosophy of life. She said that you are “supposed” to just get to know the people in your area very well and that you should spend all of your time within your own little community. I used to spend time with the locals for a few weeks and then take some “me” time and wander off visiting other places, not abroad, but just places that I had never seen.
That is the kind of push- pull energy that is going on. Want to do something a little “out there” and broaden your mind/horizons. Computer says yes.
