This is where the dolphins of Taiji Cove are being held for training for the human entertainment industry. They were actually fed some dead fish this morning. Well they have to keep them alive as their value will soar when they are trained. A couple of weeks ago these were wild dolphins swimming with their pod/family and now they are held captive forever.

There was concern a couple of days ago that the dolphins were not being fed. Whilst the battle is ongoing to stop the capture/kill drive in Taiji, dolphins are being kept in these grim conditions. The Fishermens’ Union has a duty of care towards their inmates. Animal welfare is a bit of a non starter in Japan but this holding bay should adhere to humane standards and be regulated. We are looking into pushing for that.
If you would like to help these dolphins please go to Taiji Cove Petitions (on the right) and be a voice for them.
Thank You
