Another day at the office for the Taiji hunters. Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians report :

A pod of 14 Risso dolphins were driven and slaughtered into the deadly confines of the cove today. Killers found the pod a short distance off shore, and after a quick but hard fight the pod was sealed into the cove. Members of the pod clearly understood the horrific intentions of the killers and in a panic tried to swim through the nets, but only became entangled. Killers in dive suits were forced to wrangle the fear stricken Risso dolphins by placing ropes around their flukes and drag them to shore where slaughter awaited. No lives were spared and all members of the pod ended their morning lifeless on the butcher house floor.

This slaughter was the 7th in 8 days, totaling an approximate total of 260 dolphins slaughtered at the hands of the ruthless beings, known as the Taiji dolphin killers.

As the death toll continues to increase and the killing season scheduled to take place until March, the need to have more individuals join us here in Taiji as Cove Guardians is apparent. For more information please email coveguardian@seashepherd.org.
