Tiny pens where some of the captive dolphins are held. Today they have placed 6 in one of them. 11 bottlenose were taken for training and profit for human entertainment. The rest of the pod are being slaughtered. Those are the ones that are not deemed suitable for live capture, too old, injured, their face does not fit -all relatives of the captives. The dead bodies will be taken past the pens by skiff. Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians will confirm approx number that were slaughtered when they review the footage..
It is estimated that approximately 90 dolphins are being held in the gloomy sea pens. There have been transfers so the number is always shifting. They have all of those but still took 11 more captives today. It shows how much money there is involved in live capture and training for human entertainment. But remember for every dolphin that is “saved” for entertainment a lot have been killed. Our oceans are being depleted through greed. This is nothing to do with tradition and there is nothing even approaching humane about the Taiji drive hunts. The Mayor of Taiji Needs to go to Specsavers
