This is a wee poem that I wrote many moons ago when I was a teenager.
An apple falling from a tree
Hit Newton, knocked him flat
Bang goes the law of gravity
And bang goes Newton’s hat
A pear falling from a tree
Hit him not long after
Said Newton as he shook his head
“This law is getting dafter”
Then something else fell from the tree
As he gazed up at the sky
And he watched the bird fly off
Through his other eye
